"B" for Boys:
The word Boy has always been spelt with a capital "B".
Ranks for Officers:
Officers' ranks do not go beyond full Lieutenant and all commissioned officers are church members.
Captain is an appointment and not a rank.
Form of address:
Officers are always referred to by Rank, Mr and name,
ie Captain, Mr Darly Chen and not Captain Darly Chen.
Officers are addressed as "Sir " by Boys.
Boys are addressed by rank and name,
ie Corporal Bobby Tan and not Corporal Master Bobby Tan.
Companies are always addressed by Numerals, Country then Company,
ie 76J Singapore Company and not in any other fashion.
Buttonhole Badge:
Buttonhole Badge is worn by all members regardless of rank when not in uniform.
Bands:
BB Bands have always been the distinguishing feature of the organization.
BB Songs:
The Anchor And the Mighty Band of Brothers are sung all over the world by all BB members.
Wearing of Caps:
Caps are always worn when in uniform, with the very strict exception that it is not to be worn when in church sanctuary.
BB Colours:
Company Colours embodies the spirit of the Company and is always held with the highest respect.
Vesper:
All BB functions and parades always close with the singing of the BB Vesper.
BB Handshake:
Our different style of handshake has the last finger intertwining with that of the other party's.
BB Salute:
Our "full palm to the front with the straight fingers and bent thumb" has been our ceremonial style of paying compliments.

Recognition of Service:
Only Boys have such recognitions in form of service badges, but not officers.
